MatLabs offers L‑type working electrodes in glassy carbon or gold, with diameters of 2–5 mm. Reversible Hydrogen Electrode

The platinum wire electrode is used as the counter electrode/auxiliary electrode for electrochemical measurement dealing with half-cell reaction. Pt wire counter electrode is often used with our cell stand for experiments in electrochemical analysis.

Details of Graphite Rod Counter Electrode (We can also make this in copper, stainless steel, glassy carbon, nickel etc)

This electrode contains a coiled platinum wire fused in a glass tube. It is used as counter/auxiliary electrode in many electrochemical measurements involving three-electrode cell systems. Coiled Platinum electrodes are available in two sizes and are compatible with all electrochemical cell systems.

Platinum plate electrodes can usually be used as auxiliary/counter electrodes for various electrochemical measurements in three-electrode cell-system. Platinum is the first choice for counter electrode for many electrochemical applications due to its inertness and stability in different electrolyte. Compared to mesh and wire-type, platinum plate electrode has higher surface area to match and support the current generated on the working electrode in any chemical reactions. Due to platinum plate electrode’s resistance to oxidation, it is an excellent choice for anode in several electrochemical processes, such as the electrolysis of an acetate salt to give ethane and carbon dioxide. It is also used in several industrial application like cathodic protection and electroplating. Their stability in harsh environment provides accurate results.

This electrode is used a s counter/auxiliary electrode for electrochemical measurements in half-cell reactions. This electrode contains a platinum mesh attached with platinum wire mounted in a glass tube.

The output current in an electrochemical system is obtained across working electrode and counter electrode, on application of voltage across the working electrode and the reference electrode. The platinum gauze electrode acts a counter/auxiliary electrode with high exposed surface area for the occurrence of the electrocatalytic process.

The set includes two 100 × 100 mm glass bases for flat, stable polishing; three alumina grades (1.0 µm, 0.3 µm and 0.05 µm, 20 g each) to execute a reliable coarse-to-fine sequence; five velvet and five microcloth pads to match abrasive step and finish; plus five 2000# and five 3000# abrasive papers for initial corrective work on stubborn films or scratches. It is a metal structure that protects the interference of external electric field and electromagnetic waves with the experiments carried inside the cage. The outer body of the cell is grounded. For doing the experiment the electrochemical cell has to be placed in the center of the cage. Those are experiments that deal with low currents or high frequencies, and experiments where very precise (and accurate) measurements are required, Faradays cage can be used.
