Visual Membrane Electrode Electrolytic cell
Visual Membrane Electrode Electrolytic Cell This visual MEA cell integrates optical windows on both anode and cathode sides for in-situ observation and high-speed imaging—ideal for diagnosing gas evolution, flooding, and channel utilization under realistic operating conditions. The bipolar and guard plates are fabricated from high-purity titanium for conductivity and structural rigidity. Standard flow-field sizes span 10×10 to 50×50 mm, with common geometries including serpentine (cathode) and multi-parallel (anode) to probe distribution effects. The assembly provides stable compression of PEM/AEM membranes and leak-tight sealing for reproducible measurements across load cycles. Use it to correlate electrochemical performance with visible two-phase flow, bubble dynamics, and transport phenomena—accelerating optimization of catalyst layers, GDLs, and operating protocols.
Highlights
- The flow channel Specification: 10*10mm; 20*20mm; 30*30mm; 50*50mm, or other customized flow field size.
- This electrolytic cell is mainly used for research testing of electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction/alkaline anion exchange membrane water electrolysis, and electrochemical process.
- Both the anode and cathode are equipped with optical visualisation windows, which can be used for in-situ observation and high-speed photography.
- The bipolar plate and fastening guard plate are made of high-purity titanium.
- The cathode is a hollow serpentine flow channel, and the anode is a hollow multi-parallel flow channel.
Customised cell is acceptable.
