Overview
The Au Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) from Matlabs is engineered for precise and reproducible electrochemical studies where controlled hydrodynamic conditions are essential. The electrode consists of a polished gold disk embedded in a chemically inert PTFE or PEEK body, ensuring outstanding corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity.
Principle of Operation
In RDE experiments, the electrode rotates at controlled speeds to create a well-defined diffusion layer, enabling accurate determination of kinetic and mass-transfer parameters in redox systems. The gold surface provides excellent catalytic activity for reactions involving oxygen reduction, CO₂ reduction, and thiol or sulfide adsorption studies.
